Drink packaging and label design for a new range of ready-to-drink, craft canned cocktails from the creators of That Boutique-y Gin Company; Who pride themselves on making the most unique gins on earth.
The design challenge
That Boutique-y Drinks Company, an award-winning craft spirits producer, boasts a successful range of gins already on the market. However, faced with the challenge of expanding into a new market segment, inspiration was drawn from existing labels to adapt to a new canned cocktail range. The objective was to encapsulate the funky flavour combinations of the existing gins in a ready-to-drink format, ensuring they stood out amongst competitors in the booming ready-to-drink market.
The design solution
The solution aimed to capture the essence of the existing brand in an exciting new format tailored for the ready-to-drink market. Inspired by the craft beer industry, a 330ml can was introduced to the lineup. Illustrations were carefully isolated from existing labels and seamlessly integrated with bold colours, vibrant shapes, and graffiti-style typography, conveying a powerful flavour experience. Additionally, overlay and textures were strategically utilised to bring together the fun and adventurous flavours.
Furthermore, the success of the cans was evident as they clinched the gold medal at the 2019 International Spirits Challenge. They gained prominence at numerous festivals and events throughout 2019, further solidifying their position in the market.
